Upgrading service or adding on new services.Starting, changing or disconnecting service.People call Comcast for many reasons related to their Xfinity cable television, telephone, and Internet services. Since Comcast is the largest provider of home Internet and cable services in the United States, it is not surprising that the company gets a lot of requests for phone-based customer service. These services are sold under the Xfinity brand name in the United States. Those callers will hear a disco or busy tone, but everyone on a non-Comcast network will get through to the new carrier just fine.Comcast is a major provider of Internet, cable and telecommunication services in the United States. Until they clear the switches, it will be seen as an on-net call. The fallout of nasqing is that any calls originating from the Comcast network will stay on the Comcast network until Comcast removes your numbers from their switches. I might have the acronym wrong, but, whatever it’s called, it’s a process that allows the new carrier to forcefully port the numbers when they have authorization from the account owner, even if the losing carrier won’t release them. Then give Comcast the complaint IDs for both orgs, and let them know they’ve got (however long you want to demand) to release your number before you proceed with the complaints.Īlso ask your new carrier about NASQing. Those are the orgs that actually levy the fines against the carriers, anyway, so it’s the better place to start. Issue your complaints to the FTC and the PUC. The fcc is a waste of your time while ajit (cream)pie is seated.

It's been two hours.Īnyone know what's my next step with the FCC? I'm currently waiting for a callback from the manager I was talking to. Called and was told the account was (once again) canceled. They just kept telling me to try some random numbers associated with the account.įinally, today I received a porting rejection notice that the number is (once again) no longer on the account. Spent the next few weeks in a cycle of porting rejections because they said our billing number didn't match and Comcast couldn't tell me what my billing number actually was. Problem solved, I guess.įorced Comcast to reinstate the account. Was told the ticket was closed because our account had been CLOSED. Was told it had been assigned that morning and would be resolved in 2 business days. It was now being escalated and I would have an answer the following day. Was told their ticket volume was high and it hadn't been assigned. I would hear back within 2 business days. In order resolve we'd have to get yet another extension, set that new number as our main number, and then continue to port. Was told the reason was something about the number being used as a virtual extension (BTN number?) and not an active line. Was told the number wasn't associated with our account and they would look into and get back to me in 5 business days Since that time, going on 2.5 months, I've been unable to complete the port for this number or have Comcast give me any rational explanation.Ĭalled to get last number ported.

In order to keep the process going we dropped that number from the LOA and ported the remaining 49. At that time, 49 of my 50 numbers ported successfully but Comcast flagged one of them with an issue. In December I ported my business service from Comcast to Vonage.
